Carl Sagan is Agent Smith
Post number 200! Woo!
Here is a video featuring the Matrix with Carl Sagan's voice dubbed in. It's actually pretty eerie how Agent Smith and Sagan sound the same!

More on Matthew Hughes
Hi everyone, just wanted to post some more on Matthew Hughes' books! This week I have finished both The Spiral Labyrinth and The Farouche Assemblage.
Spiral Labyrinth was a terrific read though you may be lost if you haven't read about some of Henghis Hapthorn's other exploits in Majestrum and Gist Hunter.
The Farouche Assemblage however was probably one of the prettiest books I have ever seen, and was hard to read for fear of breaking it. I am the proud owner of number 60 of the 125 copies that will be printed! You can see all the stuff that comes with it on this guy's blog post about the book. For $15 US it is money well spent, and it's also collectible being available only in limited quantities.
I was so impressed with Farouche that I am going to try to order some more books from Payseur and Schmidt! They're really reasonably priced and really really good looking books.

Newfoundland Baby Bonus
If you're from Canada you probably love Rick Mercer. Well I do!
This video is probably only funny for Canadians. :) Rick brings back one of his characters to help the lovely ladies of Newfoundland (and Labrador) cash in on the baby credit, for the cost of gas and maybe lunch (wink).

Bender's Big Score
Futurama is coming out, DVD only, but it's coming back! Easily one of my favourite cartoons!
Halo 3 Easter Egg
I haven't played Halo 3 yet (hopefully this weekend with my brothers) but someone found this easter egg.

Dwight Schrute the Music Video
Everybody loves Dwight. Love enough to write a song about him? That is a dedicated love. A love that makes you feel all dirty inside and no matter how hard you wash you can't get it off.
And that is how they find you.

The Upcoming Works of Matthew Hughes
OK, I am selling out here, but it is for a good reason. If you're reading this blog it is probably because you like jokes and funny stuff, so you'll appreciate what I have to say anyways. And I have to admit that this blog entry is also in part an entry to win a signed book!
Matthew Hughes (Archonate.com) is definitely one of my favourite writers, and he has been for quite a while. I've collected almost all of his books, the Archonate ones at least and I love them all!
I got turned onto him from his Henghis Hapthorn short stories in the Fantasy and Science Fiction magazine. They were a mixture of a really great futuristic (but not too 'sci-fi'ish) world and a fun detective story that I always found fun to read.
Matt has diversified his character portfolio, but most of the stories still take place in his fantasy world of the "Archonate" and is releasing several new books from September to early next year, so if you get a chance I highly recommend picking them up!
My personal recommendations are Black Brillion and Majestrum. You can read the introductions to the stories at those links, and you can still buy them at Amazon or Chapters/Indigo. I also highly recommend The Gist Hunter and Other Stories, a collection of Matt's short stories most of which were also published in magazines like Fantasy and Science Fiction (I like it because these were the stories I first read).
The Spiral Labyrinth has just been released (I have my copy but haven't read it yet) and The Commons is coming out soon in October, these are sequels, or related to Majestrum and Black Brillion respectively so I also recommend picking them up too!
Oh and blog about the books if you like them! Maybe you'll win a free book too! ;)
Video links and other stuff will now resume!
